Alafia Fat Tire Festival Trip
November 14-16 2003
Day 2
"all hell breaks loose"

Damon Fowler arrives.
Incidentally this guy ROCKS... Check out his website:

At this point we have a group of riders who have either logged alot of miles and are seriously delirious, or who already hurt themselves. Into these riders have been poured many bottles of cold beer.  Add to this some great music and you get one weird night.

A few others are suffering from leg cramps . We are the ones who are loading up on water and trying to rest.

Just rubbing butts, Don looks on...

Yikes.

I only wish there were more pictures from later this night. About 11 pm the last set ended, and so the drunken troubadours headed back to camp. After a great deal more drunken hatcheting, the three wheeled bike arrived again, with the keg of beer.  Naturally, more beer was consumed, and next someone with a stereo laden truck showed up and blasted us all to sleep with Dave Mathews tunes until about 1 am. As luck would have it, Paul FitzP prayed in earnest for the truck to leave, and miraculously it did. That however was not the end of the night.  Deb had failed to bring any camping supplies what so ever, and was clearly too drunk to drive, and too ethical to sleep in anyone's tent. Don finally relented and spent the night in my truck so that Deb could have her own bed, and Nick got up and made the bed for her.

Incredibly - Rebecca snored through it all.

Now, you might think after reading this that there would be some ill-will or even some minor hostility.  Such was not the case. We all had a great time. We talked about it afterward and agreed that aside from the minor inconveniences, this time of entertainment is truly priceless. We gratefully thank those who helped create such a funny and memorable evening.

Onto Day 3
