Hello Fellow Mountain Bikers:

My name is Bill Klausmeyer and I am responsible for the formation of COBRA (Crossroads Off road Bike Riders Association) which specifically deals with issues regarding the excellent trails in Fort Pierce.  We have been networking for close to a year now and are pleased that we are making progress so that we do not lose this trail to development or closure.  Over the past week on of our local county commissioners, Cliff Barnes (who also rides the trail) became motivated to assist us in our efforts.

It is his intention to propose to the county commissioners next Tuesday morning, April 23, at 9 am in Fort Pierce, 2300 Virginia Ave., County Annex Bldg. 3rd Floor,  that action be taken to do what is necessary to purchase this land to be preserved as our place to ride.  There are certainly a great many ways to approach the subject of preservation, and it is fantastic to have such a great offer on behalf of Mr. Barnes.

He has kindly asked that we fax or email him with our letters – something he can take to the commissioners – something tangible – which will accurately reflect the numbers of people involved and in favor of our keeping the Ft. Pierce Bike trail intact.

Below is Cliff Barnes email address. I would greatly appreciate your taking a moment to jot down a note informing him of your strong desire to preserve the Fort Pierce Bike Trail.

Thanks,Sincerely
BILL KLAUSMEYER
