Todd Lyons has secured a meeting space for us to determine our action plan, and to see who is who and what we are doing with respect to getting this trail set aside as a preserve.

 

The meeting will be held at Stuart’s Blake Library on Monterey Rd., 3 p.m., Saturday April 6th, 2002.  Our group is meeting under the Treasure Coast Cycling Association heading for this meeting.

I discussed this issue with Fred Davis last week.  Fred is the Director of our land stewardship division.  Based on my conversation with Fred it appears you are going in the right direction by contacting your local councilman.  Fred's advise, and I agree, is that counties are always looking at improving and add to their recreational areas.  If you can get buy in from the county (i.e. Cliff Barnes and other

councilmen/people) then the District could begin talks with the county on dealing with the land ownership issues.
